The best tennis academies in the world 2021
There are many academies recognized around the world, most of them in Europe, especially in Spain, but all of them can give different results. We recommend that you spend time talking to players and parents who have spent time at the academies to learn as much as possible about them and see which is the best option. Before you start, I would recommend that you get to know all the types of tennis courts that exist so that you know which ones are best for your child.

So if I'm an adult I can't do tennis lessons at these academies? Of course you can! All tennis academies mentioned in this article have a school for children/young people and another one for older adults.
Piatti Tennis Center (Bordighera IM, Italy)

The Piatti Tennis Centre is always described by the word “Family”. The players who train there feel like a family. At Piatti, the atmosphere seems fun and friendly but the intensity is high. It is based on the Italian Riviera between San Remo and Nice, so the climate is pleasant all year round.
Riccardo Piatti has been getting the most out of players since the late 1980s. He has worked with many of the best Italian players of the past to enter the top 20, as well as Ivan Ljubičić (ATP 954 – ATP 3), Richard Gasquet (ATP 31 – ATP 9), Milos Raonic (ATP 11 – ATP 3). He also worked briefly with Novak Djokovic and currently works with Borna Coric who at 22 has an ATP 13 ranking.

Alexander Waske Tennis-University (Offenbach am Main, Germany)

“Made in Germany” describes the quality that the Alexander Waske Tennis Academy has been delivering since 2010.
Focusing on individuality and intensity, the German academy has been working with several champions such as Kerber, Petkovic, Martic, Melzer, Haas, Berankis, but has also been successful in building juniors from an early age. For example, Jonas Forejtek ( #1 ITF 2019, junior AO and Wimbledon doubles champion, junior US Open singles champion), Karlis Ozolins (#6 ITF), Stefan Popovic (#124 ITF) Jule Niemeier, Sumit Nagal (junior Wimbledon doubles champion) and more.
The system of having only two players per court, with a responsible coach ensures focus on the individual needs of each player.
Events such as the Christmas Battle, the weekly game day, the annual football match and leisure activities create a team spirit that is felt throughout the club.
Traveling with the players, besides training at the academy is one more thing that makes the Tennis Club special.
All the coaches at the tennis club do their job with passion, following their philosophy and including their own training methodology.

Barcelona Tennis Academy (Barcelona, Spain)

The Barcelona Tennis Academy is a small family-run academy located in the coastal town of Castelldefels, home of football star Lionel Messi, just 15 km from Barcelona, 10 minutes from the international airport and 5 minutes walk from the beach. Thanks to the small size of the BTA, the approach to player development can be individualized for each player. Players are treated with personal attention.
There is a very close relationship between coaches, players and parents. Knowing the players so well allows the BTA to create individualized training programs for them, tailored to their needs and abilities. The priority of the academy is to help players reach their maximum potential. Training at the BTA is led by director Raphael Maurer (Switzerland) and head coach Jordane Doble (France).
Raphael Maurer, the director of the BTA, was one of the best juniors in Switzerland, training, traveling and competing with players like Roger Federer and Martina Hingis. He then played college tennis in Florida, USA, where he was twice All-American. Raphael trained some of the best junior players in the Americas, Asia and Europe, developing an academy in Asia and now in Spain.
BTA Head Coach Jordane Doble is extremely dedicated and passionate about the game. Jordane was one of the best junior players in France. She then competed on the ATP Tour, winning 7 Future tournaments, playing against players such as Nadal, Tsonga and Monfils, reaching a high ATP ranking of 385 in singles and 302 in doubles.
